BD Diesel Killer Grid Heater Upgrade Kit – 6.7L Cummins

The Killer Grid Heater Upgrade Kit is designed to fix a critical flaw in the 6.7L Cummins engine that can lead to catastrophic engine failure. The issue stems from the electrical connection to the intake grid heater. When the grid heater is activated, up to 200 amps pass through a small bolt and nut inside the intake. Over time, this connection can deteriorate, arc, and eventually break off, causing the nut to fall into the engine. This can result in major damage to pistons, cylinder heads, and valves.

While other solutions exist, they are often expensive, reduce engine heat in cold climates, and may require tuning. The BD Killer Grid Heater Upgrade Kit eliminates the faulty internal connection while retaining full stock heater functionality. It's emissions compliant, cost-effective, and easy to install.

Note

2007–2012 applications require removal of an aluminum tab on the grid heater using a Dremel or hacksaw. Refer to the installation manual for full instructions.
