This SunCoast 48RE transmission is rated at 450HP, making it an ideal upgrade for towing, hauling, or slightly modified vehicles. It incorporates several key upgrades that not only improve performance but also restore and enhance hydraulic integrity.

A major component upgraded is the factory accumulator piston. The original plastic piston deteriorates over time, leading to cracks or complete breakage. Additionally, cross-leaks within the bore are common, which is why we replace the factory piston with our improved billet version. This piston is engineered with a four-ring sealing design, compared to the factory's two-ring, to ensure better hydraulic integrity and reliability.

The factory intermediate band circuit, often responsible for second gear band burn-ups, has been addressed with a larger billet servo that offers more apply pressure and improved release. The servo also features a four-ring design with a primary square-cut Teflon sealing ring and a secondary O-ring.

Further upgrades to the band circuit include a billet band anchor, strut, and apply lever. The band itself is upgraded to a pro-series, carbon-graphite band for improved friction performance.

The valve body and pump are recalibrated, and the separator plate is replaced with a new laser-cut, SunCoast-proprietary plate. This upgrade allows for optimal line pressure and increased fluid volume. Each valve body and pump is custom-built to meet specific customer needs, whether for towing, street performance, or track use.

Additionally, the SunCoast 48RE transmission comes equipped with new overdrive and lockup solenoids. The billet disc torque converter features a carbon graphite clutch material and is equipped with a precision CNC-machined, forged billet apply piston to prevent deflection, ensuring long-lasting performance.
