Stock 24v springs with 78-82lbs of seat pressure at 1.380″ are inadequate for applications over 35psi of boost or drive pressure, as they may cause valve reversion and hurt power output. Hamilton springs address this issue by controlling the valvetrain better and preventing reversion. Recently, Hamilton reduced nose pressure from 220lb to 180lb to extend cam life. It’s crucial to check both seat and nose pressures when choosing springs, as high nose pressures (over 250lb) can shorten cam lifespan. Tool steel retainers can be purchased separately.
