These conical valve springs are built to handle the demands of high-performance engines that run over 30lbs of boost or exceed 3500 RPM. Valve float can cause serious damage to the valvetrain, and without proper control, intake and exhaust valves can be blown open by the pressure. This can lead to reversion, where exhaust gases enter the cylinder on the intake stroke, negatively affecting power by slowing down combustion and lowering cylinder pressures and temperatures.

With 165 lbs of seat pressure, these springs will help maintain proper valve control up to 4,500 RPM with moderate cams and OEM-size valves. For those pushing beyond 4,500 RPM or running larger valves, it's recommended to switch to a dual spring setup for added safety and control. The product comes with retainers and locks, and optional locks are available for a .075″ higher installed height.
