The Sun Coast 47RE Transmission is engineered to provide exceptional performance, rated at 550hp, making it an ideal upgrade for truck owners engaged in towing, hauling, or those with slightly modified vehicles. This transmission is built to withstand the demands of heavy-duty applications while offering improved reliability.

Several key components have been upgraded to enhance performance and restore hydraulic integrity. The factory accumulator piston, typically plastic, is replaced with a robust four-ring billet piston to prevent deterioration and cross-leakage. This improvement not only restores hydraulic integrity but also enhances overall reliability.

To address common issues with the intermediate band circuit, the factory cast servo is replaced with a larger billet servo that provides increased apply pressure and improved release. This servo features a four-ring design with a square-cut Teflon primary sealing ring and an O-ring secondary sealing ring for optimal performance.

Further upgrades to the band circuit include a billet band anchor, billet band strut, and a custom billet apply lever. The band is upgraded to a pro-series carbon graphite band to improve friction performance, ensuring better engagement and durability.

The valve body and pump are recalibrated, with a new laser-cut, Sun Coast proprietary separator plate to optimize line pressure and increase fluid volume. Each valve body and pump is custom-built to meet the individual needs of customers, whether for towing, street performance, or track use.

An important addition is the 23 spline billet input shaft, crafted from 300 maraging steel. This shaft is heat-treated and stress-relieved to handle higher torque demands and is precision ground to ensure a perfect drop-in replacement.

The Sun Coast 47RE Transmission also includes new overdrive and lockup solenoids, as well as an upgraded governor pressure sensor. All new transmissions come with a DNJ billet solenoid housing and an upgraded governor solenoid for improved reliability.

The included Category 1 Billet Triple-Disc Torque Converter features a carbon graphite lining and a precision CNC-machined forged billet apply piston, ensuring minimal deflection and maximum performance. Combined with a billet cover, this setup guarantees long-lasting reliability and efficiency.
